PASSAGES INSOLITES: A FESTIVAL OF PUBLIC ART IN THE HEART OF QUEBEC

August 31, 2023 Québec City, QC, Canada

Felice Varini (Switzerland/France)

My dad is visiting me in Canada and so, as part of the quintessential tour, we decided to make a quick trip to Quebec City.

We started walking late in the evening and only after we took the first round of photos we noticed a series of buildings-with-googly-eyes that kept making guest appearances in the background.

Pierre&Marie (Quebec)

And then... birds?

I had to get closer to investigate further.

Cooke-Sasseville and MC Grou (Quebec)

Turns out we were in town while the 10th edition of Passages Insolites was taking place. This is a public art festival happening every summer in Quebec City. This year, the festival features works by more than forty artists from Quebec, Canada and abroad.

Definitely a great surprise to discover this festival during our visit and a new art event to add to the art radar!
